Vacuum Simulation

Depalletizing Robot with Vision and a Compound Gripper

The simulation files show two of the different concepts presented to the customer.  The customer decided for the robot to unload the parts onto parallel roller conveyors.

 

The vacuum gripper moves both the pallets and the slip sheets while the parallel gripper moves the rotors.  The vision system is used to:

  • find the part
  • identify the part
  • locate the part

After final installation at the customer's facility the robot cycle was further optimized to the point that it only needs to run at 65% speed to keep up with the two paint lines it is feeding.  Meanwhile our competitor's similar lines at the same plant have trouble feeding just one line due to poor cell layout and bad programming resulting in high down time.
